How does CENTAURI perform during earthquakes or other significant vibration events?

Modified on Tue, 28 Sep 2021 at 02:03 PM

Currently, we can track and compensate for vibrations with adjustments being made around 10 times a second. We are in the process of improving our vibration tracking and compensation algorithm to support the tracking of vibrations and the ability to make adjustments up to 100 times per second.

Earthquakes are quite complex. The way Centauri responds to these vibrations will have a large dependency on the kind of structure onto which Centauri is installed.

For example, a device installed on a wooden telephone pole will be subject to a very different kind of stress than one installed on an aluminium lamppost, and a device installed on a high-rise rooftop will also be different from one installed on the top of a low-rise house or non-industrial structure.

In general, we can correct for movements several times per second to combat pole sway and other environmental effects, including vibrations, thermal expansion and more.

In any case, we are constantly working to improve and adjust the vibration response capabilities of our products and are open to any further inquiries you may have about our current specifications.
